My Local Kitchen was born out of a frustration with ready meals currently available.  Our mission is to provide ready meals that are:

Different & delicious

Cooking can be a chore but dull ready meals are joyless.  Our dishes are a cut above, designed by a Michelin starred chef and updated seasonally – from classic dishes with a twist to more contemporary recipes that you wouldn’t expect outside the latest destination restaurants.

Standout quality

It follows that the best tasting food requires the best quality suppliers.  We only use the finest ingredients and are proud of the provenance of the suppliers that we work with, so much so that we acknowledge and share details on our website and social media.

Always fresh

We believe fresh is best.  Freezing can work well but cooking from frozen takes longer and can impair taste.  All our dishes are designed with taste foremost in mind, not the longest shelf-life and are free from additives and preservatives.  Our chefs start to prepare your dish only when you place an order so its fresh for you.

Smart for the environment

 As we all become more aware of the amount of single use plastic used in food production, we aim to nurture the planet and nourish our customersOur food has less packaging, less waste and travels fewer food miles than centrally produced alternatives. We aim to be plastic free and for our packaging to be fully recyclable.


Our fresh local production allows us to tailor your order to your needs. We will soon be able to offer dishes which can be adapted for flavouring and taste, dietary & allergens concerns through our online platform.

Our food is prepared by chefs you trust in small kitchens within your local community, not miles away in large industrial estates – we seek to make it easy to support local businesses and to provide greater transparency of the provenance of key ingredients and where your food is being produced.


Where We Operate

We are currently operating a ‘pop up’ kitchen in Barnes to get feedback on our dishes.  Dishes can be collected and we are also offering a delivery service within a 6 mile radius of our kitchen located at SW13 0DQ.  Please check delivery availability from our online store.  


We are always seeking to develop strong and close relationships with suppliers, those who care as much as we do about how food is grown, nurtured, and produced. We are proud to showcase the following suppliers:

Smith & Brock is a wholesale supplier of fresh & prepared fruits & vegetables to hotels, restaurants, event and contract caterers, bars, pubs and schools. The business also supplies dairy and chilled goods. The business started trading in July 2016 from humble beginnings with a solitary hire van, brothers Nick and Joe and a driver. Whilst Joe and Nick have been in the industry for more years than they would like to admit, the impetus to create Smith & Brock was born out of frustration with being part of something that wasn’t doing things properly. So their mission, very simply, is to have the best people supplying the best product with the best service at the right price to customers who value these attributes in a supplier.

A family business, established in 1933 by Aubrey Allen. An award winning catering butcher, they supply the finest meat, poultry, and cheeses to chefs and restaurants across the UK. They are proud to have held a Royal Warrant from HM The Queen since 2012.
